Find out at My Smart City conference and hackathon on 15th and 16th October 2020 in Zadar Puppet Theater.

Third edition of the conference is organized by representatives of the local IT community and The City of Zadar.
Key conference topic will be life quality and how technology can improve it. It will be attended by representatives of the public and
private sectors who use technology in their daily business and young people who want to be involved in IT in the future.

As in previous editions, participants will have the opportunity to exchange views, discuss and post questions to speakers,
all with the aim of engaging and contributing to the development of digital city services
and creating an environment for smart city development

ABOUT THE LOCATION


Zadar Puppet Theater as meeting point for the city IT community

The conference will take place in the Zadar Puppet Theater at the very city center. The theatre will transform from cultural into IT center that will gather city’s IT community, and all interested in technology. They will have the opportunity to gain new knowledge, take part in discussions and meet new people.

Hackathon will take place in the Saint Dominic church next to the Zadar Puppet Theatre.

HACKATHON


Hackathon will be organized in two groups: hackathon for pupils and hackathon for students. Only high school pupils can apply to the hackathon for pupils, while hackathon for students is open for university and faculty students, as well as for young people from 18 to 27 years. Registration is free of charge, and number of teams is limited, so make sure to register your team via link as soon as possible!

The topic of the hackathon will be focused on project solutions that can make Zadar a smarter city in terms of ensuring a better life quality for its citizens.

To ensure that all teams have the same chances of winning, the hackathon topic will be given to everyone at the same time at the beginning of the hackathon. All teams will have 24 hours to design and present their solution. During the hackathon, teams will have mentors available to advise and guide them to achieve the best quality solution.

My Smart City Hackathon will last for 24 hours. It will start on Thursday, 15th October 2020 at 10:00AM in Saint Dominic church and last till Friday, 16th October 2020 at 10:AM. The winners will be selected by the jury after they publicly present their solutions on Friday in Zadar Puppet Theater. Three winning teams in both categories will get valuable prizes. At this workshop we will go through basic components of creating a web site and applications using HTML/CSS, CMS like WordPress and JavaScript as an example of client-side programming.

Data acquisition, processing and visualization

SATURDAY | 10th October 2020 | 6:00PM

At this workshop participants will get introduced to different types of data from physical environment (environmental data), research methods of downloading data via API services and REST web services, as well as with their visualization using Google Visualization API and Javascript.

Topics that inspire stimulating environment for the development of IT solutions

My Smart City conference and hackathon will last for two days. On the first day of the program, a conference (in the Theater) and a hackathon (in the St. Dominic church) will be held in parallel. On the second day, the hackathon participants will have public presentation of their solution in front of an expert jury.

My Smart City conference in Zadar is financed from the project 2CODE – Cooperation for Development of Cross Border Business Environment Enhanced, within Interreg IPA crossborder cooperation program Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro 2014-2020. The lead partner is Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center Tehnopolis from Nikšić, in partnership with the City of Zadar, University of Zadar, Foundation for Innovation and Technological Development INTERA from Mostar and Public company “Business Innovation and Technology” from Tuzla.
